Follow through with Polaris Global and dream big

Procrastination LeeAnne Bartlet

Are you a procrastinator? Do you keep putting things off, just because?

There really is no better time than now. You never know what is around the corner; you never know what tomorrow will bring and whether you will be able to complete those things on your “TO DO” list.

I think procrastination is the biggest reason that most people never achieve the things they want to in life. A great example is losing weight. So many people want to lose weight and say that tomorrow they will start their ‘DIET’ and then tomorrow comes and there is another excuse or reason why they push it back to start again tomorrow and tomorrow and then tomorrow. Surprise-surprise: tomorrow never actually comes, have you ever heard of a day called tomorrow? There is no such thing.

What about that income goal you have? That great idea you had to generate a larger income for you and your family. What happened? Why didn’t you take action on it? Was it because you thought tomorrow would be a better day? Or maybe you thought that if you did it tomorrow it would be easier?

If you really want all the things in life that you have on your GOAL list, then you need to become a person on action TODAY! Not a procrastinator.

The fortune really is in the follow through, so if you don’t follow through but procrastinate, you really can’t expect to have all your BIG DREAMS and GOALS.

What are you going to take action on today that you have been procrastinating over?

So many people go through their entire life waiting for the right time, waiting for tomorrow. Very often this can come from wanting all the circumstances to be perfect before taking action. As you mentioned Lee Anne, there will always be excuses as to why the time isn’t perfect. Successful people have made a habit of taking action anyway.

  2. Elizabeth R says:

Ironically I started my personal development about 10 years ago, with the simple goal of removing procrastination from my life!

10 years later I realise that it is not a tangible thing to “give up”.
It is simply putting one foot in front of the other, taking the next step possible, towards whatever it is I am aiming for.

My action today was running. Step 1 was 1km. Step 2 tomorrow is 1km. Step 3 the day after is 1km. Step 4 is 2km!!
    A win already!

For me, there’s no surer way to get a great night’s sleep than to go to bed at the end of the day having done something different or having completed something. It’s a load of my conscience, and frees me to relax. Knowing I could be doing something but not being bothered to do it is a very draining guilt-trip to carry around! X0

I had a big realisation with “procrastination” today LeeAnne! Rather than confuse myself over all the things on my task list for the day & the whole “Where do I start?!” syndrome, I just completed them in the order they were on the list. No questions asked. No procrastination & a very productive day! 🙂 ~ Kirsty

Thanks for the comments Debbie, Elizabeth & Felicity. Love your steps Elizabeth x and Felicity sense of completion is a great feeling at the end of each day. And yes Debbie, waiting for the right time, it may never come x

I was procrastinating responded to all these lovely blogs, Lee Ann, but not any more…

Never been a BIG procrastinator in my business career… BUT I think I procrastinated my happiness for most of my life, until I found Polaris. Up until this moment, Lee Anne, I never realized that I put off being happy. Isn’t that insane? So thanks, Lee Anne, for prompting that thought with your post!

  7. Darryl M says:

Excellent post Lee Anne and so very true. I previously thought “maybe they are having dinner now, I will call them later”, but since I have become a student of BFE, I know that if they are really interested in what I am calling about, now is the right time (or we can arrange another more suitable time). I find that I have to develop my action plan the night before, because otherwise, now being an action oriented person, I would try and do it all now. Prioritisation with a clear mind is the trick. Thanks Lee Anne – great post.

  8. Penelope D says:

Chronic procrastination sure is a problem! We all procrastinate to some degree & you are right Lee Anne, it holds us back to the achievement of our goals if left unchecked. Writing up a daily TO DO LIST certainly helps me to stay on track with the “must do” tasks & I prioritise each task according to their importance. Completing six top priority tasks a day (“A” tasks) is a great way to stay on top of what must be done “today”. I guess we have to differentiate between, ‘what’s important is not urgent & what’s urgent is not important’.

  9. Lee Anne B says:

Great one Kirsty, Lists (I do know them well) also Tally’s one of your favourite xx Love it Louise past the procrastination phase x Love that Darryl, I have been in that mindset in the past, but realised that best time to call people is when it suits me xx Absolutely Penelope The To Do List is very important

  10. Adam B. says:

Funny, I’d been putting off blogging because I thought I’d do it tomorrow, but as you know Lee Anne there is always a tomorrow after tomorrow.. So here I am today doing what I said I will start tomorrow. Woohoo..

  11. Kim G says:

I live with a procrastinator and if anything it makes me more productive. I look at the love of my life and smile as for him tomorrow very rarely comes when it concerns the To Do list 🙂

  12. Lee Anne B says:

Adam, so glad you have put aside the procrastination on blogging, as have read your blogs and they are awesome, so please keep doing them. Love it Kim, great to have that driver for sure. x I am sure you balance each other out

  13. Jan S says:

My greatest fault. Procrastination. It is so debilitating amd takes me nowhere. It causes me to feel constantly overwhelmed and then I start to play “catch up”., but I never do catch up.
I will overcome this by following more of a strict schedule and sticking to it. Nothing gives me more of a felling of freedom that when I am on top of it all.

  14. Lee Anne B says:

Great plan Jan, organisation and not spending too much time on things that don’t work, or you haven’t gotten your head around yet, find something you know and do more of that while you learn the other things bit by bit

MOTIVATION, PASSION and EXCITMENT with Polaris Global Bring it on

Do you live your life driven by the excitement of the things you are achieving? Are you passionate about what you do? Are you motivated to take ACTION? Since I started with Polaris I can answer YES to these questions. Polaris Global has assisted me to create that excitement and passion in my life.

I know for myself that being in a training/mentoring role in my business now with Polaris Global, I absolutely love what I do, to be able to share that passion (pass-i-on) . Without passion you really cannot achieve your Goals.

It goes without saying that someone who is excited, passionate and loving every aspect of what they are doing attracts more of the same into their life, hence creating more success, and attracting more of the things that make them happy. Success cannot be created from slogging out over something that you hate. Law of attraction really doesn’t work that way as you will find if you are spending your time doing lots of things that you hate. You will not have the drive and motivation to complete the necessary steps to get the desired successful outcome.

The true definition of craziness is to expect the same thoughts, the same actions to create a different outcome. If you want a different outcome you have to change the direction/the thought/the action.

The formula for true SUCCESS is to have the excitement about what you are doing, which in turns gives you passion which will absolutely give you the motivation to complete all the action steps as fast as possible to achieve the desired result.

So what action steps will you take today to be creating success in your life? What changes will you make to find the Passion, Excitement and Motivation?

  16. Alison W says:

Love action steps, success breeds success as they say.

  17. Chrissy G says:

Great share Lee Anne and I think your first sentence says it all “Polaris Global Bring it on”
My tag line for the last 5 years since joining Polaris Global is ‘ I love what I do”
So often our passion for what we are doing comes back to the exercise in our Beyond Freedom Evolution of finding our North Star or maybe we should call it our Passion Statement.

  18. Lee Anne B says:

Love that Chrissy, Passion statement is exactly what it is.. Polaris Global and my passion statement x Love it

  19. Dale H says:

Brilliant subject of focus Lee Anne.

I see procrastination as another word for Fear. The fear of what if I start this and it doesn’t turn out the way I had imagined it to turn out. I wouldn’t want to be disappointed etc…

As human beings, we tend to have this need to avoid pain and the desire to gain pleasure. These apposing needs are what drive us mostly. If we could only see what could be possible if we silenced our fear and stopped procrastinating, how wonderful our life would turn out to become.

    Best wishes!

  20. Kimberly B says:

great article Lee Anne. If you love what you do it isn’t really work.

  21. Berni I says:

I love way Mick pronounces procrastination – he is not one anymore!!!

  22. Berni I says:

BIG rocks first helps stop procrastination

  23. Lee Anne B says:

So true Dale, imagine a world of no procrastination, it would be awesome 🙂 Polaris global has really taught me some big lessons on not procrastinating.

Thanks Kimberly, If you love what you do, you will never work another day in your life x

  24. Sarra HW says:

I’ve never been a procrastinator, if anything more inclined to dive in too fast! Age has tempered that with hopefully more wisdom!! The more I see of life, the more I think we should live for the day and not put off the dreams we carry. I’m sure Beyond Freedom Evolution would be a wonderful tool for helping anyone move forward to chase their dreams. Its certainly reinforced mine.

Berni – Great to hear, great Job Mick

Sarra – Beyond Freedom Evolution sure is a wonderful tool to assist people in making your dreams reality

Mohamed – That is great 🙂 as Shane is talking about on the training call today, is we don’t sell products (no business does, we don’t sell the benefits and features) we sell what our business has to offer, a different alternative x
